Elevating Leadership Program
Created by Carolyne Savini (‘06) to Support Alumni, Connect Alumni, and Give-Back to OU MSA
Summer 2025 Cohort | 6 Meetings | June, July, August
What is Elevating Leadership?
This is a three-month leadership development program focused on supporting participants to elevate their leadership skills. Developed exclusively for alumni of Ohio University Sports Administration MSA/OMSA to guide and hone:
-
Identify your most authentic and impactful leadership vision and create ways to put it in action.
-
Architect the experience of the culture you wish to create among your team and create the action steps to execute it.
-
Elevate the impact of your communication to ensure direct, honest feedback with your team and establish clear expectations for the future.
The Work
We will focus on one topic each month. The three topics: Vision, Culture, Communication, set the foundation for every successful executive and leadership coaching engagement. It is being offered in this format to make the coaching experience available to those who are committed to developing themselves professionally. Each meeting will have a combination of coach-led discussion, group discussion, and handouts for individual exploration.
The intent is not for the program to be “homework” heavy. However, what we learn and discuss in each meeting is meant to be integrated into your daily work life as you go through the program. Therefore, the focus of your leadership development work in between the meetings will be with you and your own team, as you become clear on how you want to show up as a leader and actually begin to show up that way.
Your Coach & Leader
Carolyne created this program due to the lack of clear, intentional, and ongoing leadership development support across many sports and entertainment organizations. One-to-one executive coaching is often seen as a costly investment reserved for those at the highest levels. This program is meant to serve those who want trusted options for their professional development.
Over her two-decade career, Carolyne has dedicated herself to supporting leaders in achieving their goals through elevating talent, including spearheading executive succession planning, leading executive recruiting and onboarding for Activision Blizzard, now a division of Microsoft. She holds credentials as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and Certified Executive Coach.
Carolyne is a 2006 graduate of Ohio University MSA and has been on campus every year since graduation (except Covid years!) to support students. 10% of all proceeds from this and any future programs is donated to the OU Sports Ad Fund. Learn more about Carolyne.

What they’re saying about the program…
Feedback from the Spring 2025 Cohort
“The ability to connect as a small group was very valuable. Carolyne crated a space where we could talk openly, be vulnerable, and share thoughts with peers.”
“Carolyne has a passion for what she does and will deliver value and tactical takeaways. I appreciated her input and teaching as well as the real life examples from her career that she shared.”
“The program is a great balance of dedicated time without being too overwhelming to commit to it. I generated valuable and actionable takeaways that remain front of mind for me.”
"You will be challenged to think deeper about more intangible leadership topics and will begin to recognize concepts from the program in your day-to-day."
"This is a productive and engaging program that will allow you to grow as a leader - both in finding what works well and in finding blindspot areas for improvement."
"The program allows for a vulnerable exploration of how you want to show up as a leader with yourself and with others - in all aspects of life.”
“You will get time to be present and think deeply. You will learn from content and that others face similar issues. There is power in growing together and being reminded we are not alone in any given situation.”
FAQs
How many people will be in the cohort?
The cohort requires a minimum of four (4) people to run and will be limited to 10 participants.
Will we be talking about our own leadership challenges?
Yes, and, the focus will be on you versus the details of who and what makes anything challenging for you. While you can bring anything to the group, it is not necessary or advised to share names or specific details of anything that might be perceived as confidential to your organization.
I’m concerned about confidentiality. How will that be handled?
This program is designed to be a safe, confidential space and will operate under Chatham House Rule. If you feel like you are unable to commit to confidentiality, you will not be permitted to join the cohort.
What if I cannot make a session?
Sessions will be recorded and any materials shared will be distributed to the participants.
What if I know I cannot make at least two sessions?
It is recommended to attend at least two-thirds of the sessions. If you know you cannot make three or more sessions due to your schedule, it is advised to join the next Elevating Your Leadership cohort. Dates TBD.
I don’t manage any people but want to elevate my leadership. May I join the cohort?
This program is specifically designed for managers of people. If you like the topic but are not managing a team of people, connect with Carolyne and let her know of your interest in group programming for you and your peers.
